It is possible to apply for both an excavation session and a survey session.

More information

Where: The logistic core will be in Trinitapoli (BAT province); it can be reached by train from Bari and Foggia and the nearest airport is Bari.

Accommodation: The city of Trinitapoli will offer suitable accommodation for the students. Rooms and bathrooms will be shared.

Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner: Students will be offered meals by the excavation organizer. Breakfast will be coffee, tea, milk, biscuits, bread and jam. Lunch will be a panini or pasta salad and fruit. Dinner consists of two main courses, one side dish and fruit. All the students are asked to inform the organizer of any food allergies.

Working Houres: As the southern Italian summer is very hot, the working hours will be as followed: from 6.30 to 13.30 (3o minutes break).

In the afternoon there will be laboratory activities such as cleaning and classification of the findings.

What you need:

clothing: comfortable clothing and shoes that can avoid injury (for the excavation), trekking shoes (for the survey), working gloves and a hat.

other products: sun cream and repellent against mosquitos/bugs.

living accessories: sheets or a sleeping bag, pillow and towels.

working accessories: basic writing and drawing kit (pen, pencil, ruler, engineer’s scale), meter stick, meter tape (5 m), towel, water bottle.

Insurance and medical certificate: Students need to submit a medical certificate of suitability for excavation and an anti-accident insurance (basic economic type).
