Archaeological site name: Santa Maria di Agnano

Place: Ostuni (BR), Italy

Chronology of the archaeological site: The archaeological excavation, this year, will focus on two main areas. In the first area, Mesolithic and Paleolithic layers will be digged. In the second area modern, middle age and classic layers will be excavated.

Scientific Direction: Prof. Donato Coppola (University of Bari Aldo Moro); Partners: Prof. Martine Dewailly (École Francaise de Rome), Prof. Henry Baills (UMR 7194 Department of Prehistory – Paris),  Dr. Nicola de Pinto (University of Bari Aldo Moro), Dr. Michele Pellegrino (University of Bari Aldo Moro).

Archaeological Season: from the 2nd to the 31st of May 2017


1° Shift: 2-16 May

2° Shift: 17-31 Maggio

Room and Board: Free

Vaccinations and medical certificates: tetanus vaccination and medical certificate of good health/suitability for the excavation are mandatory

Course on site safety: Not required.

Insurance: Students, who don’t attend the University of Bari, have to be covered by an insurance (personal or offered by their Home University)

Language: Italian, English, French

Deadline: The deadline is 23/04/2017. However, the application process will open again the 12th of May for the archeological season that is going to take place in June.
