Born in Livorno, I have completed my Bachelor’s Degree in Cultural Heritage Preservation at the University of Pisa and I am currently completing a Master’s Degree in Archaeology in Pisa.
My field of study is related to the Prehistoric Neolithic pottery. My interests are focused on the technological aspects of the manufacturing, the analysis of the vase shapes and the searching of the elements that indicates the cultural and social relationships in a short or long distance.
Archaeology, in my opinion, is science. Therefore, method and high education are essential elements… without forgetting passion…
As a consequence, I cannot stand approximation…
I firmly believe that university excavation is a core inclusion in the formation of future archaeologists. For this reason, I think that academic excavations should be free, meticulous and didactic.
Overlooking even one of these aspects represents a defeat not only socially, but also scientifically.
In 2016, I created the Facebook group “Digs in Progress”.
I greatly value the potentiality of the web and SNS as tools of information, communications, circulation and promotion in the field of cultural heritage. Nowadays, even the field of archaeology cannot ignore the role that the media has, as it determines the success of future activities and projects.
I think, in fact, that the future and the development of archaeology will have more use of “keyboard”, rather than “shovels”.
